MIDDLEHURST

OVERVIEW
This is an ‘N’ gauge continuous double loop layout around a town scene. There is a through station with two platforms serving several lines. A fiddle yard and a control panel are hidden at the rear. Buildings are mostly by Metcalfe although other manufacturers’ structures and even scratch-built structures are visible.

The layout, which measures 5’ by 2’11”, was originally constructed by the late John Byrne and was subsequently donated to the club.

TRACK
The track is Peco code 80 with Peco electrofrog points operated by Gaugemaster point motors.

MOTIVE POWER
The layout is suited to both steam and diesel locomotives carrying passenger and goods traffic.

OPERATION
A Gaugemaster analogue transformer is used with a controller for each loop.
