The 2026 NDMRS Show

This year's show was held, as usual, in Bangor Grammar School. On this occasion it happened in March over the weekend before Easter. There were around 80 layouts, displays and tables for model railways, figures, cars, trucks, aircraft, boats, farms, dolls houses, building kits, paints etc. There was a flying show with planes, helicopters and drones plus lots of places where visitors could get their hands dirty building, painting and using their imagination! Trade stands were selling everything needed for your modelling hobby and specialists were there showing how they did it. It was a fun weekend for all the family.

It looks like a scene from an Agatha Christie play but, in actual fact, it's model of a room from a grand house made by Lorraine and Ann Miniatures

At our show, we always have plenty of second-hand model railway items for sale. Here we see McCullough's of Bangor, one of our regular traders.

A diorama from our own club depicting Stephenson's Rocket on a trial run in 1830. The day saw the first recorded railway death when the MP William Huskisson was fatally injured whilst trying to get too close to the action.

Our traders come from North and South and sometimes even from GB. Here we have a loyal trader from Dublin with a wide rage of new model railway items for sale.

Trains, and BOATS and planes. The Seahorse Model Boat Club are with us every year with a vast array of carefully-crafted models. Some of them can actually be seen on the water down at Pickie Fun Park.
